Leapin Locusts!!!

Well, not really. They are gangly grasshoppers, blissful butterflies, and darting dapper dragonflies! Some of the most beautiful colors and designs I have ever seen! Yellows, oranges, reds, blues, greens, and iridescent mixtures. I have had a dragonfly light on my hand, on my lap, and on my shoulder. I have had a grasshopper fly by me, while communicating to his other hopping friends, that he has arrived, with a chirp so loud, that it sounded like incoming helicopters overhead! Oh, and the beautiful butterflies, all different types, fluttering here and there, they all seem to be part of each others family. No one cares whether the butterflies and dragonflies are around, or if they almost land on a grasshopper, or sometimes even almost landing on the dogs! They even play WITH the dogs. Yes, you read right...PLAY WITH THE DOGS!...One day stands out in my mind most, we were playing with the frisbee(we call it a birdie toy), dont know why, it just seemed to fit. Anyway, Ru went to fetch the "birdie toy"(frisbee) and then he decided to lay down and chew on it. When he did this, inbetween chewing on it, a butterfly would swoop down and LAND on the frisbee. Now, its just a white frisbee, no fancy colors on it, so I don't think the butterfly thought it was a flower, but maybe he did. Again, Ru picks up the birdie toy" and the butterfly flutters in front of Ru's face, waiting for him to put the frisbee down. Ru puts it down, and the butterfly lights AGAIN on the frisbee, this goes on for about 5 minutes or so. Amazing!!!

I have never really liked bugs! Matter of fact, that is a gross understatement! I have HATED bugs most of my life. Now, don't get me wrong, just because I have moved to the wilderness, and become "mother earth" to all creatures great and small, does not mean that the "BUG" doesn't stop here when it comes to spiders and ants and bees....! YUK!! Anything that could be harming to me or my pets. Out comes the "RAID!!!" or a natural killer of "those" type of bugs...I know killing is wrong, but God gave them the outsides and us the insides. And, yes, I know we should have to co-exist, but if man(woman), started to overtake their outdoor home, they would be "bugged" too, don't you think? I don't kill all bugs, I have given spiders a ride on a "magic flying napkin" to the outdoors, and a struggling moth, trying to get out before the cat gets him, I opened the door and shewed him out, and didn't I give a home to a homeless bark beetle, named Spot just recently? And Spot, let me remind you, had pincers the size of Texas! And could hurt us, but all the same, felt bad for the not so little guy and we took him and put him in the hole of a dead tree, where he is happily doing his part of the green effect. Taking down the dead trees of the forest. I'm not sure how green that is, but it sounds good, though for the stories sake. HA! Bugs have always bugged me, but I think as long as I can enjoy them in their natural habitat, and they don't necessarily need to be in mine, then I think everyone will be happy with that..
