Moon and Stars

I took the doggies out for their break about 11:00 pm. It was so quiet and serene. The moon was so bright and the stars were dancing in the sky. I actually let the porch light go completely dark (which I have never done before, because it is so dark out there), just to see how dark it really was. I kept my flashlight on, just to check on the dogs. It was beautiful and eerie at the same time. So beautiful, greys and browns and colors that has no description. All you could see with the flash light is the reflective signs at the bridge and the "no hunting allowed" signs. Other than those few reminders of life, it's pitch black, dark; like death. Quiet, reflective, hauntingly spooky, you can't believe how dark it is,it is so dark outside that they trees that are darker than the night, are light in comparison. The light shining through the trees from the moon is spectacular. Each little star, is shining brightly, glowing in the dark sky. It is time to go back inside, so I call the dogs, they come to me, we go inside to the brightness and liveliness of the little cabin.
