Modesty

I have recently become one of the many followers of Christ, that covers her hair/head.

Several reasons that I do this,

Modesty; A woman's hair is one of her most defining and sexy things about her. It can make her looks or take away from them. Having your hair to mess with day in and day out, not only takes time, it makes one think of how they look to the outside world, what is known as "vanity", or covering it up some, makes one think of how their insides look to our Creator. Thinking about how you look, is also a way to attract the opposite sex. In the 10 Commandments, #7 Do not commit adultery. That comes from the book of Exodus 20:1-17. But in the book of Matthew and in Luke, Jesus comments on the same subject. He says in Matthew 5:28 that "if anyone LOOKS upon a woman with LUST in his eye, has committed adultery with her in his heart already!." It is also up to us not to make our brother stumble or for that fact, anyone, because of our beautiful hair hanging down, and swinging in the wind, causing some one to commit "do not covet" #10 on the list. So you see, since God's ideals are very different than ours, we may be committing serious infractions without even knowing it. The Bible also says that "whoa be unto those that lead someone else to stray away from God, they should rather meet up with a mother Bear robbed of her cubs." OUch! That is serious stuff!

Also, from a marital standpoint. If when you are married, everyone gets to see all of you, and in this world, everywhere you look, you can see more of women and men all over the place, things that shouldn't be shown in public, much less in some of our churches!
