Shut the front door!!!!!

I had never heard that expression until I started to watch "What not to wear", with Clinton Kelly and Stacy London. Stacy, always says that, when she is saying "OMG I can't believe it!", or WOW THAT IS AMAZING!. Then again, recently I heard it on a commercial for potato chips...One person says "Yum", another "shut the front door" and an old man says "FRANKLIN DELANO!". hahahahahaha. all as a meaning of extreme pleasure or shock and surprise. BUT here in Montana in May, "shut the front door", means just that! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! as in "baby, its cold outside!, brrr!!!!, I'm freezing my bubushka off! I feel like a penguin sometimes...Well, lets just say a toucan penguin! Can you imagine??? Somedays Im so hot,( due to MENOPAUSE) that I think I need to jump in a cold bucket of ice and other times I'm so cold ( due to MENOPAUSE) that I am chattering my teeth! Unfortunately, our front(and mind you, only door) does not have an extra door to keep out the cold, like some do in the midwest or in the east.. so when you open it, it gets REALLY chilly REALLY FAST! The good part is, when its warm out, you can leave it open and let the house warm up and air out too! Put the ceiling fan on, and its downright tropical.... There are days here when it is -30 outside, and every time that door gets opened, its like SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! PULEEEEZE!!!! Yet, even as we get into the spring months of May and June, we are told that it will be 60's and some 30s at night. Take today, for instance, it was 58 degrees, with sun breaking through partially overcast skies and FREAKING SNOW flakes falling from the sky!!!! What does that mean? I don't know, but for pete's sake, SHUT THE FRONT DOOR ~ and turn on the heat......FRANKLIN DELANO!!!!!!!
