The Sun and the snow and the dogs and the squirrel!

Today was a wonderful day. We had coffee, sitting outside in the sun, about 25 degrees, in our camping chairs having coffee this morning. Then we had chicken salad sandwiches for lunch.

We then had a unfortunate "smelting accident" (Austin Powers ~ Goldmember), where I fell face down onto the snow, (s-melting snow, get it?)we started to laugh and then both Marty and I were laughing so hard!!! I wasn't hurt, thankfully and it was just hysterical the way it happened, you know, you couldn't stop it! I was trying to shovel snow, and my boot ties got tangled together and guess what? Down I went in a heap!!! Thank God, I had just shoveled that area in fresh fluffy, powdery white snow, onto which I fell. Had I not been laughing so hard, I should have made a snow angel while I was down there. Marty gave me his strong arm to help me up. I wasn't wearing mittens either, so my little palms were PINK!(favorite color!!) haha I had a similar accident when I was 8. Picture it, Ice skating Rink, Lloyd Center, Portland Oregon...They had just cleaned the ice with the cleaner machine...and of course, me the klutz down I went! I burned a hole right through my mittens into my palm. Wow that hurt!!!! I was skating with my daddy, and told him I wanted to do "figure 8's like Peggy Fleming". Needless to say, I didn't do either, figure 8s or skating at all like Peggy Fleming. I was more like a "flamingo" with 6 legs- trying to ice skate. hahahaha anyway, I would love to be able to skate now, but ankles with arthritis don't let me...booooooo!!!! :( Its amazing to me that I was a good dancer; took lots of lessons. Maybe it had to do that it was a dry dance floor, not an ice rink....oh well.....

The dogs were trying to keep Spencer from coming down out of his tree to eat. The funny part, was everytime they would bark, some snow would fall off a tree, almost getting Buster twice and Ru once! It was funny as Buster was looking up to see the squirrel, and all of a sudden, in amazement there is snow falling on his little head, and stunned like ChickenLittle, looked like he was thinking... "the sky is falling", "the sky is falling" hahahahaha....then in a move only a smart dog would do, Buster moves over to the other side of the tree. Starts barking and jumping all around to get Spencer to come out and ANOTHER big clump of snow falls almost hitting him AGAIN!!!! Wow, sometimes you wonder how dogs are supposed to be so smart, and sometimes act so dumb! It was great to watch.

Then later in our day we had 3 deer stroll through our yard, right down our driveway, they are amazing to watch, although I have seen many many of them. Last June when John and Travis were here, we actually got to see a mother with her fawns, they were literally new born and just learning to walk~what an amazing sight to see right outside your car window!!! Two of the three were last years fawns, they were "spikes" too. Very cool. We have seen some bucks come through here too, and we saw a herd of Elk last week on our way to Missoula. A few weeks before that, a group of longhorn sheep actually "rutting" and fighting locking horns! Exciting!!! Its like we are living inside a National Geographic Magazine!!! We are so grateful for the blessings of the scenery and we try to never take it forgranted, as this is what we have wanted all along, and now we have everything we could possibly want for now. Life is good yep, life is good.
