Bark at the park, and row row row your grasshopper?

Today, I took the doggies to the park, to walk around the pond. After we finished our walk, we checked out our usual spot where the butterflies and grasshoppers hang out! When the dogs ran through the grass, the grasshoppers leaped, the dragonflies flew and the butterflies fluttered around. We watched them fly, and land, and hop, it was fun, they almost hopped and flew up my skirt there were so many. But off in the pond, Buster noted there were ducks!  So, Buster stopped what he was doing, and was really focused on the ducks. He watched them so intently, and then literally started to walk out into the water, through the mud and all. He didn't care that he was getting dirty, its like "hey water is clean right?" so who cares if I have to go through the mud to get to it!? He is a funny dog. He got so dirty, that I called him by one of his nicknames, "Boots" and it really fit him today!!  Ru also went in after the ducks, but neither one of the dogs really wanted to "swim" that far, so they came back once the water disappeared from under their feet! The last time we went to the park, Ru swam after a stick and several times too...he was sooo tired by the time he got home, he just laid down and slept and slept!

When we got in the car, you should have seen it! There were doggie mud prints EVERYWHERE!, but when we got home, we took a walk to the river, and there I washed Buster and Ru off in the cool water, played fetch the stick with them, and tried to see if Buster would chase a "fake" fishy like yesterday, (we threw small rocks in the water and said "Fishy, fishy!", and Buster would go in after them thinking there were fishies!!! It was fun to watch, and sometimes even both dogs would try to find it and then crash into each other while running...

Just before we left the river, I looked down, and realized there was a grasshopper in the water, floating along...on his side...:( so I scooped him up gently, did proper introductions between the dogs and the grasshopper, then let the grasshopper hop away...Buster tried to get him, but I caught up with them, and got the grasshopper to hop into the bushes so Buster couldnt' see him...then we walked home, the three of us...Me , Ru and Buster. On the way home, I said "Where is Latte"? (our cat), they always go to check up on her, as if she needs their help! Buster especially will go in and out in the morning, as if trying to say "Latte, you need to come out and get some fresh air!", they treat her as just like the little sister that she is (actually she is the BIG sis, and they are the babies,) don't anyone tell them that tho....Once we are in eye shot of home, they take off for home and the front door, where the life of leisure and love is always in progress.
